two.2.4) Description of the procurement
HS2 Ltd intends to procure 40no motorised firefighter trolleys.
The purpose of the Prior Information Notice (‘PIN’) is to issue a pre-procurement engagement questionnaire to understand the level of appetite within the market for the following requirements.
In order to support the safe and effective operation of the HS2 railway, HS2 Ltd is to procure a fleet of motorised firefighter trolleys. These motorised firefighter trolleys shall enable the fire and rescue services to:
a) Travel to and from a location on the railway to attend an emergency incident, primarily a fire, but also other emergency incidents,
b) Move at any one time, no fewer than ten personnel to and from any incident location, including their normal equipment such as breathing apparatus, tools and hoses, and
c) Be capable of being re-configured in the field to transport stretchers or for the movement of injured persons.
HS2 Ltd anticipates requiring approximately 40 trolleys, valued (in total) at between £1.4m and £1.6m.
